- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Acquisition Operations, Strategic Acquisition Center is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 15.201(e) for market research purposes. The Strategic Acquisition Center is requesting responses from qualified businesses capable of providing Post-surgical Intermittent Compressions Devices (ICDs) for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This notice is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, or request for proposals. This Sources Sought effort is intended to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and solicit feedback for acquisition planning purposes. Potential vendors are encouraged to submit a non-binding statement of interest and the requested documentation demonstrating their corporate capabilities. Responses to this Sources Sought are not considered adequate responses to a solicitation announcement. The applicable qualifying NAICS code for this effort is 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing. Small Business manufactures for the specified NAICS code has a size standard of 500 employees. The SAC is issuing this Sources Sought as a means of conducting market research to identify qualified contractors with the capability and the resources to provide ICDs to be used after surgery or injury to improve venous circulation in the limbs of patients (in this case, just the lower limbs) who suffer edema or the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism throughout the VA enterprise wide (i.e. VA facilities in the U.S., U.S. Territories, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines).
