- The Little Rock District Corps of Engineers (SWL) will host Industry Days on November 17 and 18, 2014 at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, located at 503 East 9th Street, Little Rock, AR 72202. The purpose of these Industry Days is to conduct market research at the programmatic level in order for SWL to establish acquisition plans for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 as well as the opportunity to partner with local contractors to maximize interest in SWL's contracting requirements. There will be representatives from the District's Operations Management Office, Project Management Office, and the Office of Small Business to give brief overviews of their requirements as well as a panel discussion with SWL leadership and industry partners. SWL has a vast and diverse mission that encompasses both military and civil projects. Within our geographic boundaries, SWL is responsible for operating 12 multipurpose lakes, 13 locks and dams, 308 miles of navigation on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, 178 parks and 7 hydroelectric plants. SWL provides support to military facilities within our boundaries including Little Rock Air Force Base and Fort Chaffee as well as to customers in Texas and Oklahoma (see attached Southwest Division Map). Additionally, SWL provides national support to Air Force Medical Services providing construction, A-E, and Initial Outfitting (IO) supply contracting to support their mission. As well as the Air Force Medical Services, SWL provides worldwide support to other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies for Initial Outfitting -Transition (IO-T) support. This will be a two day event. Below is the anticipated agenda for both days. Day One (1) 8:30 - 9:00 Registration 9:00 - 9:10 Purpose 9:10 - 9:30 Commanders Welcome 9:30 - 10:00 Introduction of Contractors 10:00 - 10:30 Networking Break 10:30 - 12:00 Panel Discussion 12:00 - 1:30 Lunch Break 1:30 - 2:30 Military and Medical Project Overviews 2:30 - 3:30 Civil Works, Navigation, Hydropower, and Recreation Project Overviews 3:30 - 4:00 Closing/Networking Time 5:30 - 10:00 S.A.M.E Ice Breaker Event at the Argenta Community Theatre Day 2 8:30 - 4:00 One-on-One Capability Briefings (Time and Location to be scheduled on Day 1 during registration). *Capability briefs will be limited to 30 minutes per firm. In addition to the Industry Day event on day one, the Society of American Military Engineers (S.A.M.E) will be hosting an ice breaker at the Argent a Community Theatre located at 405 Main Street, North Little Rock, AR 72114 from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
