Description
The Project’s purpose is to increase agricultural productivity and incomes and improve the private sector’s role in agriculture extension services to smallholder farmers. The project will also increase resilience of vulnerable communities. The Project’s purpose is to i n crease agricultural productiv it y a nd inco m es and i m prove the private sector’s role in agriculture extension services to smallholder farmers. The project will also in c rease resilience of vulnerable communities a n d household s. While Feed the Future has nine outcomes, only five outcomes are the responsibility of this contractor. The Contractor must achieve the following five outcomes to accomplish the FTF purpose as a result of this solicitation: Farm e rs r ece i ve improved and increased agricultural inputs Improved capacity of agricul t ure exten s i o n workers, service providers, farmers, and agribusiness entrepreneurs Improved and s ustainable agriculture pr o d uction and post-harvest technologies and practices adopted at the farm level Improved Market Efficien c y Increased capacity of GON and local organizations Separa t e c o ntracts have been already awarded for the following four outcomes. While the Contractor will not have any direct responsibili t y for th e se four Outcomes as indicated below, he or she must coo r dinate with the organization s responsible for these Outcomes: 6. Improved knowledge and behavior on nut r ition, hygiene and sanitation practice 7. Improved access to water and sanitation facilities 8. Improved Agricultural Poli c y Environm e nt (IFPRI) 9. Increased resil i ence of vulnerable comm u nities and households through skills development
