- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATION ONLY. DO NOT SUBMIT PRICING. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. The El Paso Contracting Office is seeking potential qualified sources to provide Locum Dermatology Services for the Department of Veterans Affairs, 1501 San Pedro SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 facility. All firms responding to this request for information notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award or to be added to prospective bidders list to receive a copy of the solicitation. The requirement is estimated for a Base Period of 6 Months with an Option Period of 6 Months to follow (FFP). Draft Specifications are as follows: DERMATOLOGIST (MD) LOCUM GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Duties include but are not limited to the following: Serve as the attending for outpatient and consultative services. Perform evaluations involving complete history and physical examinations and the ordering of laboratory studies relevant to the patient's medical problem. Perform acquisition of material from all orifices from venous blood, fluid collection, localized abscesses presenting to the skin. Perform arterial puncture. Perform peer reviews as requested. Services will be rendered in the following patient care areas: Outpatient Dermatology Clinics, and consultative services in inpatient areas of the medical center, i.e. Emergency Room, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Telemetry/Step Down Units, General Medicine Ward and General Surgical Ward, etc. QUANTITY OF SERVICE: Request 1.0 FTEE Locum Dermatologist MD for a total not to exceed 240 working days. Estimated hours will be 2,080 per year. Hours worked during scheduled 8-hour shifts for an estimated number of 40 hours per week. Locum Dermatologist shall be credentialed. WORK HOURS: The services shall be provided during normal work hours Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM through 4:30 PM. The number of weekends, nights, holidays and on-call hours will vary depending upon the needs of the Dermatology Department. LOCATION OF WORK: The Dermatology Physician will perform all duties at the NMVAHCS main facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO VERIFY QUALIFICATIONS: The Contractor must provide the following prior to acceptance of the contract: a. Candidate's current license to practice as a Board Certified/Board Eligible Dermatology Physician within the United States of America b. Curriculum vitae outlining professional experience, education, associations, license(s) and references c. Complete training history d. Evidence of board certification/board eligibility in Dermatology e. Contact information from former employers f. DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate g. Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification h. Agency Malpractice Insurance i. VA criminal background investigation OTHER REQUIREMENTS: a. Must attend new employee orientation and service level orientation prior to the commencement of work b. Contractor shall verify and document that those personnel who provide professional services under this contract possess the following items before they provide service related to this contract: Health examinations. Either has received the Hepatitis vaccine series, or are immune as a result of acquired infection, or have been offered and refused the vaccinations. Receive measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine. Combined vaccine (MMR) is the vaccine of choice if individuals are likely to be susceptible to more than one of the three diseases and is required for all persons born before 1956. A negative PPD within the last year or if a known reactor, a negative chest X-ray within the past year. A history of varicella (Chicken pox) or, if unknown, results of a varicella antibody test. If non-immune, must be vaccinated with VARIVAX (Chicken pox). Received training in Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogens, Material Management and Life Safety Management (fire preparedness) Contractor is responsible to ensure that proposed staff possesses the requisite credentials enabling the granting of privileges in accordance with VHA regulation. No services will be provided by any contracted physician prior to obtaining approval by the NMVAHCS Professional Standards Board, Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to obtain current requirements and updates as they are published. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY AND SERVICES: a. The Government will be responsible for providing the appropriate facilities, property, equipment and supplies required for the Contractor performance under the terms of this contract. The Contractor shall use Government furnished items in conjunction with, and exclusively for, performance under this contract. The rights and privileges of permanent employees are fully protected under this agreement. The services to be provided under this contract are not intended to convert a VA Medical Service staffed by VA employees, to a medical service staffed by employees of a contractor. SPECIAL CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS: 1.PERSONNEL POLICY: The Contractor provider(s) shall not be considered VA employees for any purpose. 2. NATIONAL HOLIDAYS: The 10 holidays observed by the Federal Government are: New Year's DayLabor Day Martin Luther King's BirthdayColumbus Day Presidents DayVeterans Day Memorial DayThanksgiving Day Independence DayChristmas Day And any other day specifically declared by the President of the United States to be a National Holiday.
