- Description
- The Ballistic and Blast Technology Team, Warfighter Directorate at the US Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center, have a need for a conversion of ballistic test data sheets from paper copy to digital format for database input. We require conversion of approximately 5000 test sheets into electronic format. The data shall then be manipulated into an established spread sheet format that will allow direct input into an existing data base. The data sheet conversion shall allow pertinent data to be captured and converted from letter format with tables to a linear spreadsheet format with approximately 64 columns of data. The paper copy sheets consist of up to four (4) variations of test data formats. The paper copies have been generated over the course of fourteen (14) years and have some slight variations in typeset and structure for each of the 4 test data formats. Specific technical features required: 1. Paper copy of data sheets converted to digital format; 2. Data captured at a six-sigma level of quality and accuracy; 3. Data transferred to align with appropriate columnar format an input into spreadsheet; 4. Spread sheet files for each data sheet provided using appropriate naming convention to allow tracking to original paper copy; 5. Converted files provided on DVD or by agreed upon data transfer service that is acceptable for access with government IT equipment; 6. US-based sourcing for all aspects of this effort is required. The Government is conducting this market investigation to acquire information on the types and sizes of businesses that will be able to compete on future contracting actions, potential costs as well as delivery capabilities. Interested firms are requested to submit relevant information on their company within fourteen (14) days following the publication of the RFI. Any relevant company background/experience, business category, costs, and any other information, such as prior similar work with other government agencies, that the company believes demonstrates their value/ability to meet the aforementioned requirements should be included. This RFI is solely for information purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or the issuance thereof. Responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a finding contract. Any information submitted will not be returned, and no payment will be made by the Government for such information. Respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and provide a DUNS number. Firms may register for SAM at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ Responses to this notice can be sent via email to Roberta.l.ciaramicoli.civ@mail.mil.
