- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a LISST-100X Sediment Size Distribution Sensor. The LISST-100X instrument is a multi-parameter system for in-situ observations of particle size distribution and volume concentration in costal and ocean waters. The specifications for this requirement are as follows: (1) LISST-100X Sediment Size Distribution Sensor. Includes 1GB of memory, one spare alkaline battery pack, 2 meter communications cable, 300 meter depth rating, Small Volume Test Chamber, molded polyethylene, shipping container with custom foam cushioning, 110/220VAC External Power Supply and Windows software for programming, data offload and data analysis (1) Full Path Flow Through Chamber for LISST-100X. Flow through chamber based on the full path mixing chamber design, but without the mixing capability (1) Custom Cable for Connecting LISST-100X to DH-4 Custom cable for connecting LISST-100X 5-pin communication and power to DH-4 4-pin connector. Cable will be spliced using two short pigtail cables. Length to be about 1 meter. (1) Shipping & Handling NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Sequoia Scientific, pursuant to Far 13.106 for the acquisition of supplies or services determine to be reasonably available from one source. This instrument is only available from Sequoia Scientific. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities statement to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. local time on October 30, 2014. Such statements will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an statement which shall be considered by the agency.
