- This solicitation is being posted to Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/. FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet. Please feel free to use the FBO site to access information. Please feel free to use FBO to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a contract for DDG 116-118 AEGIS Follow On Support representing completion of the development and fielding of the AEGIS Baseline 9 AEGIS Weapon System and integrated AEGIS Combat System on the remaining AEGIS TI 12 configured cruisers and destroyers. This support is to continue the fielding of AEGIS Modernization and DDG 51 new construction. Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), the Government intends to award this contract on a sole source basis to Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training (Lockheed Martin MST) in Moorestown, New Jersey. Lockheed Martin MST is the current developer of AEGIS Baseline 9 for AEGIS Modernization on cruisers and destroyers and for new construction DDG 51 class destroyers. Therefore, it is the only firm with the requisite expertise, knowledge, experience, and facilities necessary to perform the requisite tasks. Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for producing AEGIS Baseline 9 AWS/ACS systems and companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Lockheed Martin Corporation, Mission Systems and Training directly. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all capability statements received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
