Sources Sought Information Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project Equipment Mechanic W911KB-15-R-0005 This is a sources sought notice only for an Equipment Mechanic at the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project, North Pole, Alaska. This is not a Pre-Solicitation Notice, The District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska is conducting research prior to releasing a solicitation for an Equipment Mechanic at the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project, North Pole, Alaska. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Project Office equipment requires annual servicing and occasional repairs. Equipment is located at the Project Office, 3800 Laurance Road, approximately 18 miles east of Fairbanks, Alaska, near the community of North Pole. Approximately 24 types of equipment require annual maintenance; equipment types include a P&H 790-TC Crane, dozer, backhoe, farm tractor, grade, dump truck generator, trailers, ATV's, SUV's, and snowmobiles. In addition, repair services due to equipment breakage is required. Mechanics shall be journeymen with a minimum 5 years experience. If the mechanic is not a certified crane operator, a certified crane operator shall be provided to start and run the crane through any functions. The Government will provide a certified crane operator to start and operate the crane provided 3 days notice is provided by the Contractor as needed. Work shall be performed at the Chena Project Office unless permission to move the equipment off site is granted by the Contracting Officer's Representative. The performance period is a base year between contract award and October30, 2015, and an Option Years for 2016. The Contractor is to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to accomplish the work. The Service Contract Act will apply. Type of contract is a service contract. This project is contingent on availability of funds. If the project is cancelled, all proposal preparation costs will be borne by the offeror. All offerors are advised that they must be registered in System for Award Management (SAMS) https://www.sam.gov/ and Joint ventures must also be registered in SAMS. We advise offerors to begin this process when they prepare their proposal in order to ensure registration is in place should they be selected for award. Contractor shall comply with commercial and industry standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations and procedures. The estimated magnitude of the service contract is $75,000 to $150,000. The intent of this Sources Sought is to research qualified firms with a primary North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code of 811310, which has a size standard of $7.5 million for a potential acquisition. Interested firms should submit to the point of contact listed below, with the following information regarding their company: 1. Company Name, Address, and Point of Contact including email address. 2. Specify type of Small Business Status (if applicable, for example 8(a), Hub zone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned, Small Business). 3. Relevant work experience in similar equipment maintenance projects. 4. State the number of years of experience as various equipment mechanics.
