Description
The NAVSUP, Weapons Systems Support, Mechanicsburg, PA., in support of Naval Special Warfare, is issuing this Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought synopsis as part of a market survey. NAVSUP is seeking sources that manufacture Pump Action 40MM Grenade Launchers. All interested sources are encouraged to submit company and product literature, references and any other pertinent information for the Government s evaluation, including business status (e.g., small business, small disadvantaged business, HUBZone, women-owned, etc.) not to exceed 3 pages. The product information for a Pump Action 40MM Grenade Launcher shall address the following requirements: 40MM Launcher shall function / fire safely Low Velocity Rimmed 40MM ammunition with an overall length of up to 6.3 inches. Inclusive of HE and HEDP type ammunition (Mil-Std). The manipulation of the weapon shall be through pump action; pumping action rotates the cylinder, requiring no pre-winding of cylinder prior to firing. Pump action should be fitted with a removable and position adjustable vertical fore-grip. Weapon shall also be fitted with a collapsible butt-stock to adjust for shooter pull length. Folding butt-stocks will not be accepted. Weapon will be produced with a push-button positive engagement safety and a drop safe mechanism. Weapon design will also ensure that rounds cannot be fired when the cylinder and chamber are out of alignment. Rust preventative coating is required and will be subjected to mil-std salt fog testing. Thresholds and Objectives are listed in the below table: SEE Attachment File Labled A. If the product capability is determined to be suitable, a small quantity of prototype units may be procured for testing to evaluate the suitability of this device for the Government s needs. The U.S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse companies or entities that submit literature in response to this announcement. Nothing in this announcement constitutes an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. The Government is only seeking possible sources for future needs, if they arise. No solicitation document exists at this time. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED.
