- This is not a request for quote; this is a notice of the government's intent to award a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Society of Mexican American Engineers & Scientists (SMAES), 13805 Reva St, Cerritos CA 90703-9601, pursuant to FAR 13.106-1 (b) "Soliciting from One Source." Washington Headquarters Service, Acquisition Directorate intends to award a sole-source contract as a means for DoD to increase its minority outreach efforts through visibility within communities that support the professional development and advancement of minorities in the federal government and DoD. DoD's engagement will be maximized through a partnership with SMAES and will include the benefits such as: SMAES shall provide the following deliverables: Advertising Engagement - Six (6) month subscription to the SMAES Career Center - Exhibit space with full access to all Symposium attendees (20'x20') - Invitation to coach two (2) College Decathlon teams - Half page Profile in the Symposium issue of SMAES Magazine - Six (6) month banner ad on the SMAES website - Logo and Link on Symposium website - Opportunity to include up to three (3) items in Symposium registration bags Strategic Engagement - Platinum level six month membership - One (1) hosted tables at the MDO & Bravo Awards Dinner - Five (5) invitations to Lifetime Members reception - One (1) invitation to Chapter Presidents Luncheon - One (1) invitation to Partners of Excellence Breakfast Access Engagement - Two (2) PLUSS Program Symposium student workshops - Two (2) post workshop networking roundtables - Three (3) full Symposium registrations - Invitation to provide two (2) College Decathlon judges - Invitation to provide two (2) Research Poster Competition judges - One (1) hosted tables at the Scholars Luncheon - Two (2) hosted tables at the Speed Networking Breakfast DoD shall provide the following deliverables to SMAES: - Access to student college and graduate classification - Active engagement of Senior and mid-level DoD speakers during aforementioned events and for bi-annual council meetings - Lead DoD workshops focused on Diversity throughout the Twenty-First Century - Exhibit booth content This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capabilities to respond to this requirement by 10:00 AM, EST on 24 October 2014 by email to kaitlin.f.lockett.civ@mail.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
