Description
This synopsis is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award the FY 15 MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) Aegis Modernization (AMOD) module electronics and Launch Control System (LCS) equipment production, electronics and LCS equipment integration, support equipment production, and spares in support of CG modernization on a sole source basis to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Maritime Systems and Training, 2323 Eastern Blvd, Baltimore, MD, 21220. Lockheed Martin is the only firm with the requisite expertise, knowledge, experience, and facilities necessary for the MK 41 VLS electronics and LCS equipment and associated equipment production. The requirements consist of the production of MK 41 VLS AMOD module electronics and LCS equipment, the integration of LCS equipment, and the procurement of spares, Ordnance Alteration (ORDALT) kits, production support material, and other support equipment and Provisioned Item Order (PIO) Spares in FY15. The FY15 requirements include at least two AMOD launcher electronics upgrade kits and associated spares with delivery in support of CG modernization programs. The anticipated contract period of performance for this requirement will be from the date of contract award, estimated to be April 2015, through delivery of all hardware and services. Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for producing the MK 41 VLS electronics, LCS equipment, and associated equipment and companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Lockheed Martin Corporation, Maritime Systems and Training directly. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source un d er the au t h o rity of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal s. However, all responsi b le sources m a y submit a c apability stateme n t, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency (Navy) if received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis. Any submissions will not be reimbursed by the Government -- the entire cost of any submission will be at the sole expense of the source s ubmitting t he i n formation. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the di s cretion of the Government. Inform a t ion received w i ll normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
