- This is a Presolicitation notice only. The estimated release date is October 24th 2014. The Department of Veterans Affairs will be issuing a solicitation for a firm fixed unit price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, Base plus 4 option years to provide Eyeglasses, with an option for Optician Services. This solicitation will be set aside to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) only. Contracted vendor will deliver frames and lenses. Under the Optional Optician Services the contracted vendor will supply a Licensed Optician to each VA Medical Center electing to provide space for an Optical Shop, for the purpose of measuring and fitting of all Veteran patient prescriptions provided by the Doctors in the respective VA Medical Center (VAMC) Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. VAMCs include Centers in the following states: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. It is anticipated the solicitation will be released on or about October 24th 2014.
