- Statement of Work (SOW) Vocalist (Soloist) and Pianist Services 1.General Description: The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia, is seeking the services of a vocalist (soloist) and a pianist to conduct weekly performances throughout the year during Sunday and Memorial Services in the Chapel. It is implied in this document that the term "weekly services" involve the weekly Sunday Services, Christmas Service and the Memorial Services. 2.Objectives and Desired Results: "Vocalist: To provide vocal (Soloist) music for chapel worship and memorial services. "Pianist: To provide piano accompaniment for vocalist and hymns at chapel worship and memorial services. 3.Period of Performance: Start Date:10-01-2014 End Date: 09-30-2015 4.Tasks or Work to be Performed: Soloist and Pianist Services -in support of our weekly worship services, are held each Sunday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Soloist and Pianist Services - in support of two memorial services per year held on Sunday afternoon, 2-3 p.m. (The exact dates for the two memorial services will be determined later with consideration given the musicians' availability and other commitments). Musicians (Vocalist/Soloist and Pianist) are required to perform a Christmas Service on a weekday during the week of Christmas. This performance day will be "in lieu of" the Sunday performances for the Sunday following this presentation. The specific day of the performance will be established at the beginning of the month of December. The required tasks or work of the Vocalist (Soloist) will be: "Singing a minimum of one (1) Solo selection form the hymnal per weekly service "Leading attendees in singing between 1-4 hymns (selected from the hymnal) per weekly service. The required tasks or work of the Pianist will be: "Playing at least three (3) selections of randomly selected melodies (taken form the hymnal) prior to the scheduled start of each weekly service. "Playing of selections during communion services (approximately 10 minutes) which will be conducted once a month. "Provide piano accompaniment for vocalist and hymns at chapel worship and memorial services. "Pianist must have the ability to read/understand/interpret musical notations, often referred to "Sheet Music". 5.Special Considerations: "Musicians (Vocalist/Soloist and Pianist) will be required to audition prior to award of the contract. "Musicians (Vocalist/Soloist and Pianist) are expected to arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to time service is scheduled to begin, for both the weekly chapel services and the two scheduled memorial services. "All services are to be performed in the Chapel at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. "The two Memorial Services will be scheduled approximately during the months of July and January. 6.Point of Contact (POC): The Point of Contact (POC) for these services is: "Chaplain Timothy Brown "Phone: (478) 272-1210 Extension 2734 "Email: Timothy.Brown@va.gov 7.Security The Musicians (Vocalist/Soloist and Pianist) are required to check-in at the VA Police office upon arrival and must wear the Visitor Badge at all times while in the VA Facility.
