Department of Veterans Affairs Date: October 6, 2014 From: Office of Acquisition and Logistics, National Acquisition Center, Business Resource Service Solicitation Number: VA797T-15-P-0001 Notice Type: Notice of intent to sole source The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Hines Service Distribution Center (SDC), Service and Repair (S&R) Department in conjunction with the VA National Acquisition Center (NAC), Business Resource Service (BRS) has a requirement for maintenance and repair of two (2) Olympus Digital Flexible Ureteroscope, model number (No.), DUR-D. The Government intends to issue a firm-fixed-price contract, on a sole source basis to Olympus America, Incorporated, Center Valley, Pennsylvania. At this time, maintenance and repair service of Olympus Digital Flexible Ureteroscopes, model No. DUR-D (stated herein) can only be provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Olympus America, Inc. The aforementioned determination is based on a technical evaluation of the complex nature of the repair services and proprietary replacement parts required to repair the described medical equipment herein. In addition, the use of OEM components and adherence to OEM's repair specifications are essential to maintain clinical performance, durability and sterilization validation. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested parties may submit a capability statement that includes technical specifications of services, demonstrating ability to provide service and repair of described equipment herein. Responses under this notice must be emailed by Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM CST. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this and future requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred by interesting parties in responding to this notice. The Government is not obligated and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. Please email, Mechelle D.
