- Description
- Please note the questions and answers below: Q1. Who will provide security for field visits? A1. U.S. nationals traveling to Peshawar and the plant site shall be provided security by the Government of KP. Key contractor personnel are expected to visit Peshawar for the kick-off meeting and final presentations. Other than that, there will not be more than four meetings in Peshawar by two persons each over the course of the FS for finalizing the design work and the EPC RFP. As far as visiting the plant site, PEDO advises that only the expat civil engineer would need to visit the site for a couple of hours to optimally lay out the site plan. The rest of the expat contractor team would not need to visit the site. Q2. In terms of Task 2, FEED and Design of Combined Cycle Plant: The last bullet in that section references a Geotechnical study. As the contractor under this RFP, are we expected to establish the specifications for soil bore samples, or are we expected to perform these core samples? A2. The Contractor shall do the bore holes physically as per the norms of engineering design. The Contractor shall establish specs ‘before and after' the bores holes sample have been tested as per the loading scheme. Q3. With reference to Task 3, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, will the consultant be expected to physically gather the data, or may we use general reference data from Pakistani government agencies? A3. The Contractor shall use general reference data available with government agencies, academia and national and international associations & entities for the region and specific place the GTCC will be established. However, some data has to be physically gathered by the Contractor as per standard industry practice for a feasibility study, not limited to flora & fauna.
