- Description
- The requirement is for an electric pump to be permanently installed at the site to pump water from the catch basin up to the source basin. An underground 14 quote mark synthetic return line has been placed running from the pump site to the source basin. The inlet to the 14 quote mark return line is about 3 ft above ground and includes a 14 quote mark to 12 quote mark reducer. The return line is about 500 ft long, assumed to include three 90 deg elbows. Pump Requirements: New pump capable of pumping 6000 gallons per minute and electric 3-phase motor with a minimum of 200 hp and include control panel designed for outdoor duty and all electrical components to make fully operational. Available power lines can supply either 240 or 480 volts. Pump should be self-priming to a minimum of 15 ft and be able to handle solids to 2.5 in. diameter. Intake: intake will be sitting on a pre-placed concrete pad approx. 50 ft offshore and 15 ft below the power unit. Discharge: Discharge will be into the existing 14 in. line. Use of reducers or expanders from pump discharge line is acceptable. Suction head: pump should handle a minimum of 15 ft suction head. Discharge head: Discharge head is 25 ft, plus line losses. Flow rate: a minimum flow rate of 6,000 gpm is required with a 15 ft suction head and 25 ft discharge head, plus line losses. Elevations: Floor of catch basin is at elev 140 (elevations in feet), base of pump will be at elev 155, discharge into source basin is at elev 180. Site location: The FSLBF is located on the grounds at the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Delivery and installation: Delivery to the FSLBF and installation including electrical to make unit fully operational to be included in the price. Delivery to ERDC, 3909 Halls Ferry Road, Full Scale Levee Breach Facility, Vicksburg, MS 39180. Work shall be completed by 30 November 2014.
