- Description
- Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Installation Contracting Office, Fort Gordon, GA intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract with Meggitt Training Systems Inc for AA8-SPARE Pop-Up Stationary Infantry Target (SIT) lifter mechanisms for DPTMS, Ft Gordon GA. Stationary Infantry Target (SIT) is a remote controlled pop-up target actuator, capable of supporting US Army type-E, F and 3-D targets The SIT actuators are addressed individually and can be controlled individually, in unison, or in groups; either manually or as part of a pre-programmed scenario. The actuators are capable of operating as a master or slave target with up to 100 individual SITs assigned to a group, the target group can be commanded to respond in-unison. Target lifter mechanisms are networked to a computer system by radio frequencies (RF) or fiber. All the target lifters have to be from the same manufacturer to operate properly. All of the ranges at Ft Gordon are outfitted with Meggitt SIT systems. A determination not to compete this requirement was made pursuant to of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.405-6(a), Limiting Sources. The Government intends to procure this sole source requirement under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in FAR part 13 and Commercial procedures in FAR part 12. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS and a solicitation will not be issued. If no affirmative written responses are received by 29 September 2014, award will be made without further notice. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses may be submitted to Suzanne.e.mattingly.civ@mail.mil.
