Description

Statement of Need Background Information Dry ice is needed for the preservation of specimens during shipment to other VA laboratories. VHSO ships specimens to approximately fourteen (14) different VA reference laboratories throughout the work week. Approximately 250 pounds of dry ice is needed weekly. Scope The dry ice needs to be delivered weekly, on Monday morning, before noon (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). Dry ice shipment should be in approximately ten (10) pound packages (or less), whether blocks, slabs or pellets. The vendor will maintain an insulated dry ice storage box in the laboratory for storage of the dry ice at no additional charge.
