Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION USING OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION FOR THE MAINETENANCE OF 2 CYNERGY LASERS AT VA SOUTHERN NEVADA HEALTHCARE SYSTEM. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 22 Network Contracting Office, intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The proposed sole source is Cynosure, Inc. for an annual maintenance and repair for the Cynergy laser systems. Cynosure, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer of the equipment and due to the proprietary nature, Cynosure Inc. is the only known source capable of conducting preventative maintenance and repair service. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received IAW the attached Statement of Work by 09:00AM PST on September 29, 2014 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotations should be e-mailed to Ryoko.Foran@va.gov no later than 09:00AM PST on September 29, 2014. Only proposals received by this date will be considered. Be advised that all correspondence sent via e-mail shall contain a subject line that reads "Quotation for Servicing of Cynergy Lasers".
