- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWAD) is surveying the marketplace for all interested parties and is soliciting information and comments from industry and other interested parties. PURPOSE: The goal of this RFI is to explore the technical aspects and capabilities of potential vendors for this requirement. We are seeking industry to assist in identifying new sources and capabilities. Please note that the Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties responding to the RFI. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This RFI is issues solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION: The requirement is for P/N: A92791-38-3000, 1-7/16 Wire Rope for the Cross Deck Pendant Program for the Aircraft Arresting System. This material is 1-7/16 Inch Wire Rope, steel, 1-7/16 inch diameter, 6 X 30 Type G Right Hand Lang Lay Flattened Strand, Polyester Core. Interested vendors are requested to provide the following items (where applicable): -Company description -Provide capabilities and qualifications to meet the wire rope requirements -Provide manufacturing capabilities, including relevant history manufacturing similar parts and utilizing similar processes. -Provide examples of prior projects working on or with wire rope -Provide all applicable Federal standards, policies and regulations met. -Provide Quality Assurance systems in place, certifications, capabilities and qualifications. -Provide any additional information that will assist in understanding your responses to the RFI. CONCLUSION: In response to this RFI, respondents shall submit written responses, preferably via electronic mail. The Government does not intend to award a contract on a basis of this request or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. While the Government intends to use this information for future acquisition planning purposes, it will not release any information about your approach that night in any way compromise your competitive posture or proprietary information. Nor, will the Government use any information provided to level your approach relative to another competitor. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. The Government will not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the result of the review. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future associated RFP/RFQ that may be issued. Information provided in no way binds the Government to solicit or award a contract.
