Military Sealift Command-Norfolk intends to award a firm fixed price contract for the 20,000 overhaul of the #4 MDG and Turbocharger of the USNS CARL BRASHEAR. The full solicitation will be posted to FEDBIZOPPS on/about 22 September 2014. Please refer to the solicitation for details. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. 17. Place of Contract Performance: Singapore AOR 18. Set-aside Status: This procurement will not be conducted under a set aside. This requirement will be awarded under full and open competition. 19. Rationale for Small Business Strategy: There are three known sources that can perform overhauls of the MDGs onboard the T-AKE class vessels. They have the requisite knowledge and training to perform these repairs in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
