Description
The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) intends to negotiate a sole source acquisition for NetApp maintenance and support manufactured by NetApp. The requirement is for maintenance support for NetApp equipment currently located at the Bank of America (BoA) building in San Antonio, TX. DHA utilizes NetApp equipment throughout its network and server infrastructure. This renewal will provide maintenance support for equipment currently supporting DHA users in San Antonio. The equipment supports several hundred users of the DHA Network at the BoA building. DHA requires NetApp support because the equipment that has been fielded is NetApp equipment. The NetApp support will provide 24x7 on call and replacement services for the NetApp equipment currently deployed at the BoA building. There are no suitable third party manufacturers of NetApp maintenance support, necessitating the sole source for this procurement. NetApp requires utilizating their own support in order to provide warranty and service without violating existing agreements the Government has with NetApp. If the Government is unable to extend maintenance support, it will be unable to contact NetApp for assistance with any upgrades or patches that it needs to install on its equipment. If any Information Assurance (IA) patches are released for the NetApp equipment that the Government is utilizing, the Government will be unable to install them. This will lead to the equipment falling out of IA compliance and eventually require the equipment to be disconnected from the Government's network, causing service disruptions. A RFQ W81XWH-14-T-0528 will be issued for brand name items only. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334112 and the size standard is 1000. All sources that believe they are eligible to provide these items must respond in writing or respond to the RFQ. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide the items outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. If no written responses are received by the date listed below, which reflects six (6) days after the publication of this notice, the purchase will be awarded without further remark. All questions and responses concerning this notice shall be emailed to Mr. James Cheng at james.cheng1.civ@mail.mil. Interested concerns must identify their capability in writing to the above e-mail address no later than 8:00 AM ET, September, 22 2014.
