Description
Request For Information The Air Force Research Laboratory Materials and Manufacturing Directorate Composite Materials Branch is seeking information on the technical capabilities available to assist in the development of inorganic resin films (~50-300 microns) with filler contents up to 50% by volume. Such loaded resin films would preferably be all inorganic and process compatible with structural organic matrix composites. Information on thermal conductivity will assist in understanding what products are available. The reporting of optical properties (e.g., refractive index, fluorescence, absorptivity) of the material from the visible to mid-wave infrared (400 - 5000 nm) portion of the electromagnetic spectrum is also of interest. Responders are encouraged to supply information on technology readiness level (i.e., tests performed, existence of databases for design, proven platforms or implementation) and manufacturing readiness level (i.e., production capacity, mixing equipment, filming lines, quality control, and/or supply chain stability). Processing ranges (i.e., time, temperature, pressure) will assist in understanding manufacturing constraints, implementation, and compatibility. A supplemental description of the filler material is available through contacting the technical POC. Current material costs if purchased and rough order of magnitude of maturation time/costs would help in scoping the readiness of the material.
