- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisition Operations (OAO), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 23 Christopher Way, Eatontown, New Jersey, intends to enter into a contract on a basis of other than full and open competition for existing Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) services on the Region 1 Telecommunications Business Office (R1 TBO) General Communications Incorporated (GCI) Communication Corporation infrastructure. These LEC services consist of: plain old telephone service (POTS), Primary Rate Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) (PRI) service, Metro E-Service metropolitan-area Ethernet, metro Ethernet network (MOE) Cloud access or Converged IP (internet protocol) Network, Call Block feature, and Call Hunting/Roll over feature, Call Redirect feature, Third Party Billing Block feature, Primary inter-LATA (Local access and transport area) Carrier (PIC/LPIC) provisioning. The Contractor shall provide telecommunication services at the facility 24 hours per day, seven days per week with maximum service availability. The intended sole source award will be a firm-fixed price contract with GCI Communication Corporation, 2550 Denali Street Suite 1000, Anchorage Alaska, 99503. The Statutory Authority for this effort falls under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1 entitled, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) for this effort is 517110. The estimated date of award for this action is October 01, 2014. This notice does not in itself represent the issuance of a formal request for proposal/quote and is not intended to be taken as such. This notification shall close on September 5, 2014.
