Description
Q&A from Industry regarding RFP VA247-14-R-0828, Ambulance Service for WJBD VA Medical Center, Columbia, South Carolina on FB0 QuestionAnswer 1.Page 7, Paragraph B.5 refers to Columbia as a county for the required licenses. Should this be the city of Columbia?The Contractor shall be licensed to work in the state of South Carolina. 2.Would the government consider allowing the contractor to submit trip tickets one day in arrears due to time constraints and other logistics? We have found that this method ensure more accurate reporting and works best for both the VA and the contractor. Trip tickets shall be delivered to the Travel Clerk or AOD by 4:30 p.m. no later than the 5th business day. 3.Will this contract require the transport of ventilator patients?Yes 3a.If so, will the solicitation be modified to include a transport ventilator as required equipment?This equipment can be furnished with the Advanced Life Support (ALS) transports. 3b. Also, will the solicitation be modified to include Speciality Care Transport (SCT) in the pricing sheet?Speciality Care Transports are listed as ALS. 4.We gave seen this requirement previously but they are never used. If not, will the solicitation be modified to remove the infusion pump as required equipment?No. 5.Line items 0009 and 0012 in the pricing sheet request a rate for mileage but no quantity is given. Will the contract be modified to include a quantity on line items 0009 and 0012.No. 6. Will the contract pay mileage to destinations other than the specified destinations?Yes, as long as they are authorized transports. 7. Page 9. B.8.2. (a) Please define physical capabilities of driver? The driver's ability to perform all duties in accordance with the transport of the patient to include loading and unloading, visual, and audio. 8.Page 12. B.5.2 Prior Day Orders. What is meant by "Radiation orders shall be verified by daily listing provided by the Travel Office?" Refers to patients who are receiving radiation treatment. The transportation orders must be complete and submitted to the travel office to provide appropriate transportation. 9. The Base Period start date is identified as October 1, 2014, but there is also a note that indicates this might be delayed. When does the VA expect source selection and make an award.The government anticipates an effective/start date of October 1, 2014. 10.How long will be given for the transition between date of award and Base Period start date.The government anticipates an effective/start date of October 1, 2014. 11.Will the Government extend the due date of the proposal until at least Wednesday, 17 September 2014?The Government has extended the due date to read September 15, 2014. 12. We try to be environmentally friendly ad hard copy submission of the training manual should produce over 600 additional pages submitted as part of the technical with an original and two copies. Do you want this submitted as part of our hard copy or only as part of the electronic submission?Electronic. 15. Do you know how many ambulances are being used now for the work scope?2 ALS and 2 BLS. 16. If one is awarded the bid how many days will one have to get ready to execute the contract? The Government anticipates an effective/start date of October 1, 2014.
