Description
This synopsis provides notice of the Government's intention to issue Bridge Contract contact number N00019-09-D-0007. The contractor is L-3 Communications Vertex Aerospace LLC. This effort will provide continuity of Organizational (O), Intermediate (I), and limited Depot (D) level aircraft maintenance, management, logistics support services for the NSAWC assets inclusive of F/A-18A/B/C/D/E/F, EA-18G, MH-60S, F-16A/B, and E-2C aircraft. O, I, and limited D level maintenance is that maintenance which is performed at the site where the aircraft are permanently assigned or on temporary detachment. The services shall include associated support equipment, power plants, airframes, aviation life support systems, electronic and electrical instruments, armament radar/fire control and flight line services in order to meet the daily mission requirements. The period of performance for this will be a base period of six months plus one, six month option period that will commence on 30 September 2014 to 29 September 2015, if the option is exercised. The bridge is necessary as the current contract is scheduled to end on 30 September 2014. The purpose of this requirement is to bridge the gap in NSAWC Aircraft Maintenance services between the period of performance for the current contract and a follow on competitive contract which is in process. The NSAWC Aircraft Maintenance competitive solicitation for the follow-on contract was posted on FBO and the NAVAIR open solicitations website. This solicitation is now closed for submission of new proposals. This announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind on the part of the Government. The incumbent contractor (L-3) currently has fully trained personnel and a fully developed management system in place for execution of the required services. Re-solicitation for the Bridge Contract period of up to 12 months would result in an unacceptable break in services. For information contact Brittany Mister, via email at brittany.mister@navy.mil. Subcontracting opportunites may be available and should be sought by contacting Timothy Schmidt of L-3, via email at Timothy.Schmidt@l-3com.com.
