- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with IXIA, of Calabasas, California, for the acquisition of a Network Emulator. *****Background Information The Intelligent System Division (ISD) at NIST develops, advances, and deploys measurement science and standards to speed development, adoption, and integration of leading edge intelligent technologies to advance U.S. manufacturing. *****Sole Source determination is based on the need to acquire an Ixia Anue Network Emulator that will be used in the Industrial Control Cybersecurity Testbed which is developing methods for testing various Industrial Control System security related standards. The Anue Network Emulator will be used in conjunction with an Ixia Performance Tester currently owned by NIST requires compatibility with previously developed tools and code. Ixia is the only vendor capable in providing the required Ixia Anue Netwrok Emulator. ***Delivery shall be FOB DESTINATION and be completed in accordance with the *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334111, and the size standard is 1,000 Employees. ******A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by September 15, 2014 will be considered by the Government.
