- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Carl Zeiss Meditec to purchase Zeiss FORUM Software to include FORUM Archive and Viewer packages, Forwarding Licenses, Viewer Licenses, Glaucoma Workplace Licenses, Directional Dicom Interface Licenses, Port Instrument Connections, BI-Directional Dicom Interface License, HL7 Interfaces, Dicom Gateway, HFA II-I V 5.0 Netpro W/Dicom and Cirrus Review Software. The Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center Columbus (VAACC) is seeking to compile and analyze raw data across multiple existing Zeiss instruments. The Zeiss FORUM software is the only software that allows for this analysis. The VA Columbus currently has thirteen (13) Zeiss instruments that could be analyzed together with this software only. The current software only allows analysis on a single machine at one time. FORUM will also allow for the back-up of data from these 13 machines, which we currently have no ability to back-up. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 339113. The Government believes that Carl Zeiss Meditec is the only provider that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source for the required Zeiss FORUM Software. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, Carl Zeiss Meditec is the only source that provides the above indicated services/supplies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VA Ambulatory Care Center, 420 N. James Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219-1834 or faxed to (614)388-7500. Responses received will be evaluated however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA Ambulatory Care Center Columbus will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Carl Zeiss Meditec. The Contracting Officer is Gina P. Crank @ (614) 257-5267.
