Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and shall not obligate the Government to award a contract. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources interested and capable of performing the work and obtain their size classification relative to the North American Classification System (NAICS) Code 541712 with a size standard of 500 employees. A.GENERAL INFORMATION Background: The VA Medical Center in the Bronx, New York intends to purchase an Amersham Image Station. This machine will be used on several funded and ongoing projects within the VA Medical Center. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide the equipment, installation (if required), training and all other resources required to deliver the requirements stated in this SOW. This contract is for the purchase of an Amersham 600 Imaging System, or similar piece of equipment which meets the salient features listed below. This is a BRAND NAME OR EQUAL requirement which will be used by the VA Medical Center This is a salient requirement, and is not flexible. The following are the minimum salient characteristics that must be met: Salient Characteristics for Imaging System - Bronx, New York Has no special environmental needs; can be set up on a regular lab bench. Ability to capture images from transparencies, gels or membranes using reflected or transmitted light, multimodal fluorescence or enhanced chemiluminescence. Fluorescent imaging includes UV light box and the ability to image ethidium bromide-stained gels and other commonly used DNA, RNA or protein stains suitable for fluorescent imaging. Ability to image red, green and blue epifluorecent light. Sensitivity for chemiluminescents is equal to or exceeds that of film Resolution of the imaging system is at least 2048 by 1536 pixes with the capability to capture images in 16 bit RGB format. Variable exposure times from 1/10 set to 1 hour Fully enclosed imaging chamber Computer with a multi-license copy of an image analysis software to permit analysis of the images aquired. Anlysis software should be ImageQuant or its equivalent so that end users can analyze and quantify results. A multiuser license should be obtained to ensure that the instrument is not tied up with data analysis rather than capturing images. REQUESTED INFORMATION: STATEMENT OF CAPABILITY: Submit a brief description (five [5] pages or less) that shows your company can provide the required services. One additional page may be included explaining experience in performing these services to the VA, other government agencies, or for private facilities. Potential sources should identify business name, point of contact, business size and any applicable business socio-economic category (i.e. small business, SDVOSB, VOSB, SB, etc), DUNS number, address, and any additional information felt to be pertinent. All vendors must be registered in SAM https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ prior to contract award.
