- justification IAW FAR 6.302-1 Solicitation # HHS-NIH-OPCSBSS- 14-016645 This is a notice of intent to award a sole source order and is not a request for competitive proposals under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The National Institute of Health, (NIH), Clinical Center, (CC),Department Of Perioperative Medicine Section (DPM) intends to award a fixed price purchase order to Laerdal Medical Corporation on a sole source basis for a product ACLS simulator required for training purposes of all staff that are required to be ACLS Certified. Laerdal Medical Corporation is the only manufacturer expanded its collaboration with Texas based medical plastic Laboratories acquiring the innovative and exciting company, it has been continuously developing market product development over the years established sales operations in twenty three (23) countries and manufacturing and R&D operation units in four different locations, this Company has 1400employeesboth international and local alliance partners within product and content development, product sourcing, market development and sales channels, the operations consist of high-end manufacturing, R&D, marketing and management support functions for the global company, today,Laerdal Medical is dedicated to helping to saves lives with products for CPR training, Airway Management, advanced life support training and spinal Motion restriction, The purchase of ACLS simulator, Simpad, ACLS from Laerdal Medical Corporation product is needed to continue education future doctors and nurses with the technology that best simulates direct patient care in a life or death situation. Laerdal Medical Corporation is the only company that sells all aspect of training materials that meets the current industry standards needs with worst case scenario situations that makes the training more realistic to real life event. Additionally, the proposed vendor is the only vendor that allows instructor, new experienced to deliver highly effective simulation based training for obtaining CPR certification to 90% guideline compliant performance, Other companies did not have products that worked to the level of Laerdal Medical Corporation and they could not meet the training needs. It is fully compatible that NIH has been using and is currently using, this acquisition training simulator functionality is to demonstrate CPR performance training to perfection to perform for many patients at National Institute of Health (NIH) Clinical Center (CC) on research protocol testing due to their unique conditions diseases.This procurement was conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 This synopsis does not constitute a request for proposals and quotes This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in Far 12 and under FAR 6.302-1. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred by interested parties in preparation of information or documents related to this notice the determination of the government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely with in the discretion of the Government.
