Description
Justification IAW FAR 6..302-1 Solicitation # NIHCC14016665 Office of Purchasing and Contract (OPC) intends to award a sole source Purchase Order to Sonosite FujiFilm. The primary purpose of this announcement is to identify all potential sources regardless of organization, type and size classification and determine their capabilities to fulfill a potential Government requirement. The Order will result in a firm fixed price Order for SonoSite FujiFilm to procure Upgrade/ replacement of outdated X- Ported EMED Ultrasound system and components used in ICU unit provides by the Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD).This system is designated specifically for the emergency medicine environment as patients care routinely admitted to ICU for emergency management. CCMD provides treatment and therapy to critically ill inpatients and performs research studies on critical rare diseases. SonoSite is the current state-of-art technology available that enhances the ability to diagnose and treatment potential life threatening critically ill patients at the Clinical Center, additionally, SonoSite includes a wide range of powerful ultrasound solution that improve the cost, safety, and quality of health care across clinical spectrum, All physician are currently trained inn the use of the SonoSite Edge ultrasound system,.this devise is for the replacement of the outdated Micro Maxx that is currently used by the ICU unit. The order is for product for which theGovernment intent to solicit and negotiate with only one sole source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in preparation of statements, proposal or quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation or additional information will be made available with regards to this sole source notice. This acquisition is being conducted using policies of Commercial Items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirement of Part 6. All responsible sources may submit a response if they are capable to meet the needs of this requirement. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish bona-fide capability and compatibility to fulfill the requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System Code 334510, The requirement is being processed in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR 13.106-(b)(1). The Government shall consider all responses received prior to the close date of this announcement. All responses must be received no late than September 3, 2014 at 12:00, Eastern Standard Time.
