- Description
- SOW The project is to analyze the adaptation of the Bibliographic Framework (BIBFRAME) model proposed for AV materials in the AV Modeling Study with respect to the preservation metadata that might be addressed in terms of the data model provided in PREMIS. Task 1: Analyze preservation metadata needs Identify classes and properties needed for adequate description of technical characteristics of AV materials and relate them to the PREMIS Object metadata. This may also include an analysis of what is available in other format-specific metadata standards such as PBCore and EBUCore. This task will include consideration of how the BIBFRAME model applies to PREMIS Object levels (Intellectual Entity, Representation, File, Bitstream) in terms of AV material. Task 2: Analyze how events in BIBFRAME might be handled in view of the recommendations of the BIBFRAME AV Modeling Study Preservation related events that are described in PREMIS should be the focus. This should include how particular events relate to each BIBFRAME entity. For instance, consideration of whether the migration event should be modeled as an event occurring on an Instance or as an Annotation. Task 3: Explore the specification of structural metadata Structural metadata is particularly important for time-based resources such as AV materials. Explore the need for it and how it is expressed in BIBFRAME and PREMIS.
