Description

JOFOC The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000 pursuant to the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999 [Public Law No. 106-159, 113 Stat. 1748 (December 9, 1999)]. The FMCSA's primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries. Description: The FMCSA's Office of Acquisition Management intends to award a c ontract for a base period of twelve months, and four option years. The incumbent contractor is National Academy of Sciences, Transportation Research Board, Washington, DC. The period of performance of the services will run from Date of Award through March 30, 2017. The objective of this requirement is to continue as a sponsor of the TRB Core Technical Activities; to provide for the furtherance of motor carrier safety research, and for FMCSA to obtain the services of the National Academies through the TRB in the stimulation of transportation safety, research and development activities, and dissemination of information, for a 5-year period beginning FY 2012 and extending through FY 2016. This procurement is a follow-on contract to the current contract, Number DTMC75-12-P-00028, with a period of performance September 25, 2014 through September 24, 2015. These services will include TRB Core Technical Activities (Task A), Special Studies, Reviews, and Conferences (Task B), Innovations Deserving Exploratory Analysis (IDEA) Program (Task C), and Research Synthesis Reports (Task D).
