Description
The USDA ARS in Pullman has a need for a Vogel Plot Thresher from ALMACO which is a large volume, multi-crop machine for threshing small grains, cereals, forages, and legumes and meets the production and safety goals of the Grain Legume Genetics Research Unit. What sets this thresher apart from others are the safety features. The thresher is totally enclosed guarding off moving parts, has a prominent operator's platform with self-closing safety gate, multiple emergency shut-off switches (one being a Lock-out Tag-out switch), cylinder opening foot operated pedal, and remote fuel tank. It is of utmost importance to the unit that the thresher they operate includes these safety features while being able to maintain a high amount of production. In addition to the production and safety features, this model is towable at highway speeds for ease of remote operations. Configuration includes: -Interchangeable overshot style concave and cylinder; rubber raspbar -Operators platform with self-closing gate and fixed-position steps -Safety features - Emergency shut-off switches, Lock-out Tag-out safety switch, front and rear lights with reflective tape, Cylinder opening foot-pedal and cylinder guard, remote mounted fuel tank and fuel shut-off switch. - Rubber cushioned torsion axle - 9 HP Gas Engine with electric start The USDA intends on negotiating with the only know source Almaco. Interested firms can submit proposals to the attention of Fred Gifford as listed in this notice.. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 13/6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
