- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract with Schottel Inc citing FAR part 6 subpart 6.302-1. To the best of the Government's knowledge, there are not any other firms that can satisfy this requirement. The work to be done under this contract consists of rebuilding three (3) Schottel SRP 170 Z Drives marine propulsion unit for the Dredge Hurley. Award of this contract will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS, however interested firms may submit a capability statement in response to the above requirement with cost/price information by August 25, 2014 at 04:00 PM CST to Jackie Primer, Contract Specialist, Phone: (901) 544-3340, Fax: (901) 544-3710, Email: Jackie.primer@usace.army.mil. A determination by the Government not to open competition based responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
