- This is a Request for Information (RFI) to determine what type of business can provide the equipment listed below. The RFI also is to determine what options exist pertaining to the lease of equipment or the lease with the option to purchase both with maintenance. Description: (1) Rough Terrain Crane, 130 Ton, Mfg: Grove, Model#: RT9130E or equal. Other salient characteristics: 11'-13', 150' boom, 36/59'sw, aux winch. The government intends to lease this crane for a 12-month base period with (2) 12-month option periods a total of 36 months. The government requests responses to questions in regard to (1) leasing the equipment with a maintenance agreement or (2) leasing this equipment with the option to purchase and maintenance. The government requests responses to questions in regard to (1) leasing the equipment with a maintenance agreement or (2) leasing this equipment with the option to purchase and maintenance. Please answer the following questions: 1. Can small business provide leasing of this type of equipment? If so, please provide your small business designation (i.e. small disadvantaged business, 8(a), HUBZone, Woman Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, etc.) 2. Can the equipment be leased for 36, 48, 60-months or longer? What is the industry standard of leasing times? What is the maximum lease period? 3. Contractors should describe the type of maintenance agreements associated with a lease with the option to purchase. 4. Contractors should describe all other associated costs with both lease options (i.e. maintenance, transportation charges). 5. Under the two lease options listed above, would a contractor consider letting the government take this equipment overseas? If not, why not? 6. Do the two lease options exist under any other contract vehicles (GWOT, DoD, GSA)? 7. What is the availability of obtaining this equipment after the government issues a contract? 8. If the lease with the purchase option is available what is the warranty on the equipment under this option? To best illustrate what is available in the industry please send literature on the crane with the lease and maintenance options. The literature should be no more than 3-5 pages, pictures should be in PDF format. Responses will only be accepted via e-mail. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Please send your response to MICC - Fort Eustis by 12:00 pm EST, August 22, 2014. Submissions should be sent to Dr. Ron Moton at ronald.l.moton.civ@mail.mil. This is not a Request for Proposal. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced at a later date. All interested parties should respond to any future solicitation announcement separately from this request for information. No award will result from this Request for Information. No reimbursements will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. This notice does not constitute any commitment by the government.
