Description
COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR THE BARK BEETLE STRATEGIC PLAN IMPLEMENTATION ENVIORNMENTAL ASSESSMENTS The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Colorado is seeking assistance in the preparation of three environmental assessments (EAs) to continue the implementation of the Bark Beetle Strategic Plan. The three field offices include the Colorado River Valley Field Office (CRVFO), Gunnison Field Office (GFO) and the Royal Gorge Field Office (RGFO). Description of Work: The Contractor shall work with the three field office mentioned to develop three EAs (1 for each field office) and will analyze a reasonable range of alternatives (minimum of 2 alternatives) for the BLM-administered public land. The proposed completion date for this contract is September 30, 2015. A brief overview of each field office is below: 1.The Colorado River Valley Field Office (CRVFO) administers 567,000 acres of public land in: Eagle, Garfield, Pitkin, Routt, Mesa and Rio Blanco Counties in Colorado. Public lands administered by the CRVFO extend from Vail in the east to Parachute in the west and from Toponas in the north to Aspen in the south. The focused project area consists of approximately 3,300 acres. 2.The Gunnison Field Office (GFO) is responsible for the management and stewardship of more than 600,000 acres of public land in the upper Gunnison River Basin of southwestern Colorado. Ecosystems within the GFO range from dry sagebrush steppes at 7,000 feet to forests of aspen, ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, lodgepole pine, Engelmann spruce, and subalpine fir to alpine tundra meadows that reach to over 14,000 feet. The focused project area consists of approximately 8,700 acres. 3.The Royal Gorge Field Office (RGFO) administers over 680,000 surface acres of public land along the Front Range and 6.8 million sub-surface acres. Since the field office spans such a large area, it covers a variety of terrain and is involved in a multitude of initiatives. The focused project area consists of approximately 2,900 acres. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 541620, with a standard size of $14 million. Responses are due no later than 5 pm Mtn Time, August 18, 2014 to the BLM, Attn: Felicia Salazar. Responses can be sent by mail to 2850 Youngfield St, Lakewood, CO, 80215, fax 303-239-3699, or the preferred method, electronically via FedConnect at https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect/.
