Description
Please read this notice carefully as it constitutes the only notice that will be published. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time sole source, fixed price contract in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304, (c) (1), with Procom Corporation, 8260 Patuxent Range Road, Jessup, MD 20794. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration’s Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website ( www.fedbizopps.gov ). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. The North American Classification System Code is 334220, radio and television broadcasting and wireless communication equipment manufacturing; the size standard is 750 employees. The FBI has an operational requirement for 15 small form factor hand held VHF radios that cannot exceed a height of 4” (excluding antenna). This radio shall be compliant with the P25 Common Air Interface (CAI), Over-the-Air Rekeying standards and include FIPS approved AES encryption. Based on market research, it has been determined that the FBI’s requirement for the Vertex Radio equipment can only be provided by Procom Corporation. The Vertex 820 Series radios are: 3.8” (H) x 2.3” (W) x 1.4” – 1.7” (D). The compact size requirement is necessary to meet the stated mission for field operations. Encryption Software Option, VX-OTAR This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 8:00 am, Wednesday, August 20, 2014, by email, to the attention of Margaret Einspahr, Contracting Officer, at margaret.einspahr@ic.fbi.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Telephone requests will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
