Description
The Department of State's (DOS) US Embassy in London is seeking a Telecommunications supplier to provide the infrastructure needed to connect the New Embassy in London (NLE) to telecommunications services. The DOS hopes to support embassy personnel with state of the art telecommunications networks delivering voice, data, and multimedia services. DOS intends to use Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) technology. Physical elements of this scope shall be separated into three (3) elements as follows: 1. Provide fiber optic connections from the telephone exchange in two diverse paths terminating at the New London Embassy Telecom Service Entry Facilities(TSEFs) on the north (Nine Elms Lane/Main Entry Pavillion) and south (Ponton Road/Service Entry Building) sides of the property. Make all the requisite terminations and splices to support communications. The NLE requirement is for “diverse fiber MM/SM “ and a minimum 540 Mb/s capacity” 2. Provide copper connections from the telephone exchange in two diverse paths terminating at the New London Embassy Telecom Service Entry Facilities on the north (Nine Elms Lane/Main Entry Pavillion) and south (Ponton Road/Service Entry Building) sides of the property. Make all the requisite terminations and splices to support communications. The NLE requirement is for 100 circuits. 3. Provide two “meet-me” junction boxes, one each at the north and south boundaries of the property at the point where the telecom cables cross onto the property.
