Description

This is a combined notice and a solicitation intended to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Princeton Instruments. To maintain system integrity, all items and support must be from a single source. Higher-Level DoD requirements necessitates that all hardware and ancillary support be obtained directly from Princeton Instruments. The Satellite and Instrument Development (SAID) division has an active research group involved with celestial navigation in the GPS environment (ask Assured Position Navigation and Time). The SAID needs an IR detector to support Space Situational Awareness efforts on the 0.7 meter telescope. Princeton Instruments NIRVana ST camera is the only manufacturer that makes a 640x512 format InGaAs array with 20 micron pixels, with quantum efficiency of more than 80 percent from 1.0 to 1.5 microns. The NIRVana ST camera is the only camera with Thermo-electric (TE) cooling down to -60C with a controller exposure time from 1 ms to 3 minutes. The NIRVana ST camera is the NIR camera with a gigabit Ethernet for data transfer that can be fiber optic controlled at a distance up to 50 meters. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
