Attachment 04 - KNF Food Storage Order Attachment 03 - Experience Questionnaire Attachment 02 - Wage Determination Attachment 01 - Drawings page 3 Attachment 01 - Drawings page 2 Attachment 01 - Drawings page 1 Solicitation Berray MT Lookout Roof Replacement 1.1 DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Summary: The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, transportation, supervision, operating supplies, materials and incidentals, unless noted otherwise, to replace the roof of the Berray Mountain Lookout. This includes: 1. Remove and re-install the existing Lightning Protection Equipment from the roof of the lookout. 2. Remove and dispose of the existing roofing materials. a. The existing roofing materials have been tested for asbestos and found to contain 5% Chrysotile asbestos. b. See SECTION 01732 - SELECTIVE DEMOLITION for more details. 3. Prepare roof deck for new roofing materials including a ½" layer of plywood (or other approved substrate). 4. Remove and block out chimney opening for the wood stove. 5. Remove and replace existing 2 x 6 blocking around roof access hole with new wood. a. New wood must be fully flashed or protected with roofing materials to protect it from the elements. 6. Furnish and install a new roofing system that includes a 10 year warranty against leaks. The following roofing systems may be accepted: a. Built Up Asphalt Roofing b. Modified Bitumen c. EPDM 7. Contractor shall include an OSHA approved fall protection system for the job and leave the roof anchor point in place after the project. This should be located on or near the roof access hole. B. Berray Mountain Lookout is not accessible by automobile. Mobilization of materials and supplies to the project location is the responsibility of the contractor. 1. The local chapter of the Back Country Horseman is interested in helping pack materials up to the lookout. All coordination with this group would be the responsibility of the contractor. 2. There is an area near the lookout that can accommodate the landing of a typical light helicopter and sites are available at the base of the mountain to stage materials for sling loading up to the site. A special use permit must be obtained from the Forest Service for the use of a private helicopter on NFS lands. 1.2 PROJECT LOCATION A. The project is located on the top of Berray Mountain, in Sanders County, Montana. T28N; R32W; Section 34. B. Driving and Hiking Directions: 1. From Thompson Falls, MT: Travel west on MT-200 40 miles to the junction with MT-56. Turn right onto MT-56N and proceed for 8 miles to NFSR 407 (East Fork Bull River Road). Turn right onto NFSR 407 and proceed 3.3 miles to the junction with NFSR 410. Turn left onto NFSR 410 and proceed 4.2 miles to the junction with NFSR 2272. Turn left onto NFSR 2272 and proceed 6.1 miles to the end of the road. There is NOT a large area at the end of the road for maneuvering large vehicles or trailers. The hike to the lookout is approximately 2 miles up a moderately steep trail. 2. The trailhead for pack animals is located at mile post 0.9 on NFSR 407. Estimated value - Below $25,000.
