- Sole Source Justification Statement of Work The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to the Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Chicago (Asian American Institute) to develop community-based research strategies and materials on workplace violence for native-born and foreign-born South Asian and Korean American retail employees/managers/owners/ and establishments in Chicago, specifically tailored to meet the needs of these retail establishments and communities of workers. To accomplish this, the project involves active participation of Chicago South Asian and Korean American retail employee/managers/owners and businesses and community-based partners in all phases of developing/finalizing focus group discussion/interview materials, confirming accuracy of interpretation of data analyses from focus group discussions/interview, providing feedback on fidelity of prototype violence prevention materials developed from these focus group/interview data, and assisting in developing a plan for disseminating these materials back to the participating retail establishments and more broadly to other Chicago South Asian and Korean retail businesses, employees/managers/owners, and other community-based organizations. Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Chicago is in sole possession of the participant contact information as well as the contact information for participating retail establishments necessary to complete re-interviewing of previous pilot-test participants, development of the tailored violence prevention materials, and for disseminating the results and violence prevention materials back to participating retail establishments. No one else can access this information. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent, reference 2014-72854-2, is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 10 days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to drains@cdc.gov by 12:00 p.m. Eastern August 25, 2014.
