Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Healthcare System, VISN 11 Contracting Activity intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source for the following items listed below. The associated NAICS code for this is 811219. The vendor will be Schindler Elevator, 28451 Schoolcraft Rd, Livonia, MI 48150. Description of services required: -Replace existing Baldor Sweo obsolete Drive with Magnetek DSD412. -Also add encoder, contactors, and miscellaneous parts to the existing controller. -Wire up the new drive and program to effectively communicate with existing equipment. -Input all new parameters -Test operation of unit -Perform full load safety test to ensure proper operation -Return elevator back to service. -Includes all necessary engineering costs to properly setup new drive to be fully compatible with existing equipment. A firm fixed price contract with no option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
