Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Scinomix, Inc for Sci-Print VX2, (Part number 1044600) with peripherals from the Scinomix, Inc.. Scinomix, Inc. provides the only small footprint multifunction vial handling instrument that equips various important features including the capability in uncapping and capping of screw top vials ranging in various sizes, label printing and affixation, and biological samples aliquoting and dispensing using approved pump, all can be performed simultaneously and automatically. The quoted peripherals of the system include 6 rack deck plate, 1 set of 4 gripper fingers and roller to match tubes, a 600 dip label printer, a safety enclosure with interlocks, a barcode label verification module, and a filling arm. Based on our previous usage of this multifunctional unit, it fully satisfies our Hormone standardization program needs in high volume sample handling that requires quality sample dispensing and distribution for storages and preparation for sample shipments to collaborating organizations. The conversion of this sample handling procedures into fully robotic automation allows time and money savings, increases overall laboratory efficiency. Moreover, this multifunctional unit is compact with its feature size of 29"x 24"x 13" and allowing much flexibility in laboratory storage need.. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at VWL0@cdc.gov by 2:00 P.M. August 21, 2014.
