Description

August 8, 2014 Subject: Modification to Patient Centered Community Care Contracts Contract Numbers: Health Net Federal Services -VA791-13-D-0053 and TriWest Healthcare Alliance Corp - VA791-13-D0054 This FBO notice is being issued to publicize a modification to the Patient-Centered Community Care (PCCC) contracts to include primary care, effective August 8, 2014. The PCCC contracts provide eligible Veterans coordinated, timely access to care through a comprehensive network of non-VA providers who meet VA quality standards when VA cannot readily provide the care in-house. TriWest Healthcare Alliance and Health Net Federal Services were awarded these contracts in September 2013 for non-VA specialty care. When VA cannot readily provide these services internally due to geographic inaccessibility or limited capacity, the addition of primary care services to PCCC enables VA to ensure that all types of care can be purchased through existing contracts, while ensuring appointment scheduling occurs within five calendar days and Veterans are seen within 30 calendar days, as required in the pending Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014. The dollar impact of this change remains within scope of the original contract award and requires no change to the overall contract maximums.
