Description
The Military Sealift Command (MSC) has a requirement for lifeboats for T-AO class vessels. MSC intends on procuring Shipsets of lifeboats; with each shipset consisting of four (4) lifeboats. The required delivery date for first two shipsets under the base awarded contract is 30 September 2015. The awarded contract will also contain options, if exercised, to award up to 8 other shipsets of lifeboats. MSC, Norfolk VA intends to award a firm fixed price sole source purchase order to Harding Safety USA, Inc. for lifeboats for T-AO vessels. The Original Equipment Manufacturer of these lifeboats is Harding Safety USA, Inc. of New Iberia, LA. These lifeboats are direct replacement of the existing totally enclosed lifeboats and shall be compliant with: • American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) • United States Coast Guard (USCG) • Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) • International Maritime Organization (IMO) approved lifeboat rated for tanker service • Change 03-7 to Navy Marine Corps Acquisition Guide (NMCAG) dated Jan 20 2006 The new lifeboats are to fit into existing davit with no major modification. Current davits fit lifeboats with length 9.4 meters with hook to hook distance 8.9 meters and 10.0 meters with hook to hook distance 8.70 meters. Each lifeboat shall meet the following characteristics: • Hooks: On-load hydrostatic release hooks. • Construction: Fire-retarded Glass fiber Reinforced Polyester (GRP) • Capacity: 69 persons • Total Davit Load 12,500 kg • Diesel engines approved for totally enclosed survival crafts • Minimum Speed: 6 knots • Able to run 5 minutes in stowed position. • Color: Safety Orange • Tanker version with air bottles and sprinkler system. The estimated issue date for this solicitation is on or about 25 August 2014 with a closing date of 29 September 2014. Upon issuance, the solicitation and all required supporting documentation will be posted and can be found on FEDBIZOPS (https://www.fbo.gov/) and under solicitation number N32205-14-R-1011. All requests must provide Dun and Bradstreet number and Cage Code. Telephonic requests for solicitations resulting from this notice will not be accepted.
