- The Naval Air Warfare Center - Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to procure Brunswick 25 ft. Guardian Boats with the Tactical Communication System design package on a sole source basis with Brunswick Commercial and Government Products, Inc. (Brunswick) located in Edgewater, FL under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price for commercial items. The CDSP requires that the 25 ft. Guardian Boat be identical to those currently in the fleet, thus maintaining the established configuration. The Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Forces are required to conduct high-speed patrol, assault missions in rivers, harbors, and protected coastal areas within all maritime theaters and at all levels of conflict. NSW Forces require a craft capable of performing in such hostile environments and conditions. The Brunswick 25-foot Guardian Boat remains the only known boat that meets NSW's minimum requirements. The primary requirement is for a craft forming a single boat unit that is both unsinkable and inseparable. Brunswick has manufactured a boat with the outer hull and inner hull bonded together especially for this purpose. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
