- NASA/LARC has a requirement to develop, modify, and provide software written in the Adaptive Modeling Language (AML) that supports the design and analysis of the vehicle architectures of interest to the Systems Analysis and Concepts Directorate (SACD) of the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). Specifically, software modules shall be developed and modified that support modeling for one or more of the following disciplines: Vehicle/configuration Design, Layout and Packaging Aerodynamics and Aerothermodynamics Propulsion Systems Airframe and Engine Subsystems Airframe and Engine Structural Arrangement, Analysis and sizing Trajectory; Guidance, Navigation and Control; Stability and Control Life cycle Analyses (Cost, Reliability, Operations, Maintainability, etc) NASA/LARC intends to purchase the items from Technosoft. Under an SBIR with NASA Langley, Technosoft developed an engineering environment for the design and analysis of advanced launch vehicle concepts. The environment has been developed using the Adapative Modeling Language (AML), a commercial product available from Technosoft. The requirement is for the develoment of additional software elements and programming services to be delivered within this engineering environment and written in AML. [The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 13, 2014. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
