Description
Wolftone Thinning Project 2014 IN APPROXIMATELY 1 DAY, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS COMMERCIAL SERVICE PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT. SCOPE OF WORK The purpose of this project is to thin a dense 8 acre stand of Douglas-fir and lodgepole pine trees. The treatment will enhance tree vigor of the existing desirable trees, enhance the large tree component, and enhance long-term forest health and resiliency within the Deer Creek drainage as described in the Deer Creek Vegetative Analysis. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. LOCATION The project is located at the head of Wolftone Creek within the Deer Creek drainage on the Ketchum Ranger District, Sawtooth National Forest. The legal description is SW1/4 Sec.19, T2N, R17E. To access the project site, travel approximately 7 miles south of Ketchum, ID on Highway 75 (or 3 miles north of Hailey) and turn west on the Deer Creek road. Travel approximately 4 miles to the forest boundary which becomes Forest Road 097. Travel another 3 miles to the Wolftone Creek (FS 102). Travel approximately 2 miles to the new trailhead. At this point, travel to the project area is approximately 1.4 miles on a motorized trail that can be accessed with either ATV's or off road trail bikes (see map).
