- Description
- This synopsis is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division intends to issue a solicitation of a sole source, follow-on, Firm Fixed Price (FFP) with Time and Materials (T&M) CLINs for Installation and Checkout (INCO) repairs, single award contract with The Boeing Company for Internet Protocol Interface Units (IIU-16s) in support of the AN/USQ-82(V) Gigabit Ethernet Data Multiplex System (GEDMS) program. The requirement includes necessary services, facilities, resources, and management required to accomplish the production and delivery of production phase IIU-16s, Maintenance Support Kits, On Board Repair Parts, Installation and Checkout (INCO) Replenishment Kits, sets of Spares, and INCO repairs. This requirement will be solicited in accordance with the authority of 10 U.S. C 2304 (c) (1) and FAR Part 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), "Only One Responsible Source". The hardware are currently being manufactured, tested and provided to the Navy under contract N00178-13-C-3007 by The Boeing Company, 5301 Bolsa Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647. Boeing is the only source with the knowledge of design, development and production of AN/USQ-82(V) GEDMS capable of providing the required hardware. The period of performance is anticipated to be for a total length of sixty (60) months. Responsible sources may identify their interest and capability which shall be considered by the agency. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice is a synopsis and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it is not a commitment by the U.S. Navy to procure the subject services. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or around 2 October 2014 and will be open for 30 business days. Contract award is anticipated at approximately 10 June 2015.
